THE D7 visa is a program for non EU citizens in retirement or with stable passive income that offers a path to residency in Portugal, without having to investing in property.
After a 5 year temporary residence permit you will be able to apply for citizenship.
The application must be done from your legal residency country at your local VFS office/ consulate.
– Travel Insurance that allows you to cover necessary expenses for medical reasons, including urgent medical assistance and possible repatriation.
– Passport valid for 3 months after the duration of your stay.
– Two passport photos.
– Personal statement signed by the applicant specifying the reason for settling in Portugal, intended area of residency and type of accommodation (rental, purchasing a property or family home).
– Criminal record certificate.
– Proof of accommodation. A property registered in the applicant’s name or a 12 month rental contract registered at the tax office.
– Proof of means of subsistence as stipulated by law: 12* the Portuguese minimum wage for the first applicant, 50% for their spouse and 30% for each dependent.
– Document certifying retirement amount OR Document certifying revenue from movable or immovable property, intellectual or financial assets.
